 CBN series

CBN1H

A new EPHOR high strength cubic Boron nitride, produced through new characterisation CBN technology. It has a high thermal stability, showing no reduction in strength, up to 1100 - 1200°. Low internal stresses for more aggressive grinding. Ideal for use in electroplated, metal and vitreous wheels.

CBN1B

This is a strong blocky tetrahedral or octahedral crystal with well developed faces and sharp cutting edges, for use in metal bonds and vitreous bonds, for the grinding, sharpening and honing of high speed steels, superalloys, and cast irons over 45 HRC.

CBN1E

This is an intermediate strength CBN crystal, more angular in shape. With reduced abrasion resistance, polishing and grinding rates, and with above all a higher cleavage and fracture resistance level, this becomes the crystal of choice when selecting an economic grinding package.

CBN1A

The CBN1A is an amber coloured crystal with a highly angular face rather than blocky shape. This shape combined with its high thermal stability, makes it a highly versatile grit in wheel production using, vitrified, metal and above all, electroplated single layer bonds.

CBN1M

A high strength brown CBN. For greater wear resistance and controlled fracturing. A more expensive grits in our CBN range, this grit offers wonderful productivity, long life and consistent grinding at a high level of accuracy. Offering high removal rates, a lower temperature workpiece and extended tool life.

CBN1P

Specially produced for EPHOR, this is a polycrystalline CBN. It is black in colour, angular in shape, special crushing techniques have eliminated all weaker particles. This product is available in coarse sizes up to 1000 microns. Ideal for aggressive grinding, where high energy and vibration is introduced.

CBN ENROBE 60 % NICKEL

All CBN products are available with a 60% Nickel coating, enhancing crystal retention in resin Bonds.
When coating is required please order as follows: CBN2H, CBN2B, CBN2E, CBN2A, CBN2M, CBN2P.
